Provided by Wayne Madsen, Business Manager - Speaking with Blair before X Games he was happy to see the final was extended to 15 laps. The previous format was 6 laps. As it turned out that was definitely to his advantage in winning his 5th Gold medal. The team had done elevation testing the week prior to X Games; however once we arrived at Aspen the additional 1500 feet of altitude presented some more challenges.

Once the crew chief Jamie Anseeuw collaborated with the Skidoo engineers and Blair’s mechanic Gilles Thibeault with assistance from Garth Gordon and Wayne Hoffman our motor specialists nailed the setup Blair became confident he could win despite the poor starting position he had drawn after qualifying. For the first time all 12 finalists would start from the front row funneling into a narrow straight that was 8 sleds wide. Before the final some further suspension changes by Tim Zacharias of Enzo Racing Canada to the KYB shocks dialed in the handling for this very technical and challenging track.

This come from behind victory would not have been possible without the dedication and committed team effort of our crew and sponsors and of course a superman effort from Blair Morgan. Of the 5 entries BMRT qualified to be at Winter X Ten, Blair and Dave Allard lined up for the final. Dave’s race was impressive with a relentless charge through the pack after being pinched out on the start to finish 6th overall and the second Skidoo across the finish line. WHAT A RACE!
