Morgan looked strong in practice with the fastest lap times and as the bumps and square edge hits kept pounding the ankle he had cracked in Oct at MX of Nations he eventually had to back off and pick the smoothest lines (there really were not any) ride smart and get some points and be ready for round two.
Turcotte, The Wild Child, had some tough luck on the starts, twice pushed over the outside berm off the track and once tipped over but as he got back on the track he rode smart checking out lines and was fast all weekend with three 3rd place finishes in Open qualifiers. Getting his first pro weekend under his belt and qualifying for the final was a great start to what looks like a promising rookie year.
Kaufman struggled all weekend with his new ride. With not much practice before this first round Garth was just getting accustomed to the Ski-doo and was inconsistent, but he will certainly become more competitive with more seat time on the new ride. Overall we are glad to get that first round done and look forward to quality testing on the new Ski-doo platform and plenty of practice in preparation for the rest of the series.
